our story
we are more than just a business
Power & Pole Electric began with a belief that: when you invest in people, you strengthen entire communities. From the linemen in the field to the families and businesses depending on every line, we’ve built PPE around the idea that reliable power is really about connection—and connection starts with people you can trust.
That’s why we built PPE to be more than just another contractor. We combine skilled, IBEW-trained crews with steady leadership and clear communication, giving utilities and municipalities a partner they can lean on for both everyday work and the toughest challenges.
At our core, PPE is defined by values that don’t bend: safety, commitment, integrity, and accountability. Those principles guide the way we lead our crews, manage projects, and support the communities that depend on us. When you work with PPE, you get more than manpower on the ground—you get a team invested in your success from start to finish.
OUR LEADERSHIP
A team dedicated to excellence
Mike Hill
Co-Founder, President
Mike’s story begins with an entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to build. Over the past two decades, he’s owned and led businesses ranging from a remodeling company to excavation crews to storage facilities. Through every venture, he’s shaped a leadership style that blends resilience with clear vision: steadying teams in uncertain moments, finding practical solutions when challenges stack up, and keeping people and projects moving forward. That experience together with Mike's integrity and belief in doing what's right, now guides PPE, giving the company not only strong field crews but also the organizational backbone utilities can rely on.
Rob Edwards
Co-Founder, Vice-President
Rob’s story starts deep in the woods of Upper Michigan, where long winters and rough storms were just part of the job. As a lineman and foreman for a local utility, he learned early that power lines don’t wait for daylight or fair weather. For more than 20 years, he’s been the guy climbing poles in the ice storms, working 16-hour shifts through hurricanes, and leading crews when whole towns were left in the dark. His years of line work built not only his skill set, but also his grit: steady hands, clear decisions, and no shortcuts when the stakes are high. His commitment, resilience, and always showing up when it matters are the values that fuel PPE’s fieldwork.
Cheston Edwards
Co-Founder, CFO
Cheston’s journey to PPE began with a hammer in hand and an eye for opportunity. After owning and operating a successful remodeling company, he sold the business in search of a new challenge—one that combined his business sense with his passion for building. At Power & Pole Electric, he found it. As CFO, Cheston brings a builder’s mindset to finance: practical, steady, and focused on long-term growth. His background in construction and business management gives PPE the structure and direction to keep moving forward with confidence and purpose.
